Agent's summary

The Perspective Building epitomises contemporary London architecture, with its striking glass and silver exterior, distinctive wave-formed roof and its fantastic array of one, two and three bedroom apartments. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the dramatic glass backdrop of a five storey atrium, complete with canopied entrance and a tower adorned in stylish neon lighting. Formerly known as Century House, home to MI6 and a team of James Bonds (we imagine), the anti-espionage arm of the Government relocated to their purpose-built ‘fortress’ in 1995. A year later, leasing developer Crest Nicholson embarked upon its £50 million redevelopment of the building. In 2003, with the addition of 4 floors to the atrium, The Perspective Building completed. Such was the success of the renovation; in 2004 Crest Nicholson and Assael Architecture were rewarded for their endeavours, winning an award for ‘Best Renovation and Conversion’.

The immediate area around The Perspective Building still has a traditional feel thanks largely to Lower Marsh street market, one of the city’s last remaining street markets. The quaint atmosphere created by local gems such as the highly rated Greensmiths Deli and a specialist Gramophone shop ensure the community feel around Waterloo is maintained, despite significant redevelopment to the area. Talk of regeneration on the corner of York Road has long been mooted, with the potential redevelopment of Elizabeth House outside Waterloo station currently in its design stage. In addition to the redevelopment of the Shell Centre between Waterloo Station and Hungerford Bridge, The Perspective Building is clearly an up and coming area, full of opportunity.

Not only is The Perspective Building a fantastic place to live, it is also located in close proximity to both Lambeth North station and Waterloo mainline station. If you are however, more inclined to other means of transportation, the area has great bus links and even the infamous Boris Bikes are just moments away.
