Thruxton: a small Herefordshire village near Kingstone

Thruxton is a small rural village and civil parish south-west of Hereford, grouped with neighbouring Kingstone for parish council purposes. Herefordshire Council's account places it about nine kilometres from Hereford, in the countryside between the Wye Valley and the Golden Valley.

St Bartholomew's Church is a local landmark. The county's historical record also identifies Thruxton Tump, a possible former ringwork close to the church, although the site has been ploughed over. These are specific parts of Thruxton's history, rather than evidence of a large village centre or a collection of visitor facilities.

Kingstone and Thruxton share a parish council, with meetings held at Kingstone Village Hall. That relationship is useful when looking up local decisions, community activity and the neighbourhood plan. For a property in Thruxton, compare the route to Kingstone and Hereford with the journeys you make regularly; facilities in the larger neighbouring settlement should be distinguished from those within Thruxton itself.
