Borough Green railway station (1.2 miles) has services to London Victoria and London Charing Cross (37 mins to London Bridge). Sevenoaks station (5.8 miles) serves Charing Cross/Cannon Street (22 mins to London Bridge).
The M25 is easily accessible via Sevenoaks (jct. 5 - 7.3 miles) and the M20 is accessible at Wrotham (under 3 miles).
On the outskirts of the village there is a recreation ground, primary school and general stores. In the centre of the village is the George & Dragon public house and a village hall, which hosts several local clubs and classes. Borough Green (1 mile) has a wider selection of local shops, whilst Sevenoaks (5.5 miles), Tonbridge (7 miles), Tunbridge Wells (12 miles) and Bluewater shopping centres (17 miles) all offer more comprehensive shopping opportunities and facilities.
The area has an excellent selection of schools including primary schools in Ightham, Borough Green and Shipbourne. There are boys and girls grammar annexes in Sevenoaks as well as highly regarded grammar schools in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. There are numerous preparatory schools in the area as well as Sevenoaks and Tonbridge schools. Many of the senior schools have bus services from Ightham village.
DIRECTIONS
From jct. 5 of the M25, take the first exit from the A21 towards Sevenoaks (A25). Continue on the A25 through Riverhead (over 2 roundabouts), over the Bat & Ball cross-roads and through Seal village (about 6.3 miles). After the recreation ground on the left-hand side, turn right onto the A227 towards Ightham. At the T junction turn right onto Bates Hill and Eaglehurst can be found on the right-hand side.
